St. John United Church of Christ
Our congregation began in 1879 as the German Evangelical Lutheran, St. John Church of Reading, Ohio and our recently adopted mission statement points out our reason for being: "Called to the worship of God as revealed in the scriptures, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, our mission is to enable all people to experience God's love through our Lord Jesus Christ." This is succinct, clear and serves as our compass as we celebrate our rich past while actively participating in, and adapting to, the diverse demands of the present and future.
We seek to serve our congregation's needs as well as those of the community through:
| Two worship services: 8 am & 10:30 am (summer - 9:15 am) | |
| Free Meal Every Thursday from Our Community Kitchen, 5-7 P.M. EVERYONE WELCOME! | |
| Holy Communion available each Sunday at the 8:00 am service during fall, winter and spring and the first Sunday of the month at all services. | |
