From the desk of
Rev. Torie Front Welcome to St. John UCC’s Web Page! As the newly appointed minister for St. John, I am excited that you are here visiting our website and learning more about this wonderful place where worship, service, and fellowship all exist in the name of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for traditional worship, we invite you to join us at 10:00a on Sunday mornings. Our organist, Carol, is outstanding, and you can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit throughout her music. You’ll receive a genuinely warm welcome from our members, and I’ll be bringing you a Biblically based message each Sunday. If you enjoy serving others in Christ’s name, then St. John is the place for you. We have an on-site food pantry, and serve a free community meal each and every Thursday evening from 5:00p – 6:00p. And, in the summer, in conjunction with the Reading Church Council, we provide lunch for the area children 5 days a week at two different parks. St. John is a community of believers who believe in reaching out and helping their neighbor! To give you a little background, I just moved to Cincinnati in January 2010 with my husband, who was transferred here from Columbus with The Kroger Company. Up north, I served at Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ in Newark, Ohio. I started as the Student Associate Minister in 2002, and in 2007 I was called to be their first full-time ministry. In 2008 I graduated from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio with a Master's of Divinity, and in June of that year I was ordained by the Ohio Conference, Central Southeast Association of the United Church of Christ. I enjoy planning and leading worship, doing Bible studies, and walking with people of all ages on their faith journey. I’m looking forward to these next few months and seeing what we can do together in Jesus’ name. I’ll be in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so stop by and say hello, or give me a call. I look forward to meeting you. |
